Unforgettable Spring Wedding at Milling Barn

Beth and Jack left no stone unturned when planning their wedding; they pulled out all the stops with the help of their epic array of suppliers, filling it with epic moments and some hilarious surprises too. It was a privilege to be a part of it and a day that I’ll never forget!

Milling Barn was looking great in the spring sunshine, with pops of spring colour all around.

Sometimes bridal prep can be a bit hectic, but that wasn’t the case for Beth; everyone was cool, calm and collected. Jack on the other hand did have a small moment of panic when we realised that his bow tie was missing part of it’s fastener, so it was father of the bride to the rescue with an oversized safety pin, and it worked a treat!

The first of many special moments of the wedding ceremony was Jack’s James Bond style entrance, lead by his best man, Josh. It set the tone perfectly for what was about to happen. The rest of the ceremony was beautiful, filled with sentimental readings and rows that came straight from the heart.

Dodging the incoming rain, we managed to get a few portraits of the newlyweds before darting inside for shelter.

I don’t think I’ve been witness to such a busy wedding breakfast full of awesome moments. DJ Mike Readings began the proceedings with a grand entrance; all the speeches were spot on and then Mike rounded the meal off with a fun game of Mr & Mrs.

After a quick turn around from the venue team, it was time for the cake cutting and first dance. The energy levels in the room only grew and grew; from the conga line, to the glow-sticks to Beth DJ’ing, it was absolutely epic!

As always, we finished the evening with a dramatic portrait, I love how this turned out!

Thanks to much to Beth & Jack for having me be part of their special day! Here are the kind words they had to share after receiving their full gallery of photos:

Alex, there aren’t enough ways to say ‘Thank you’ to you. Right from the first meeting you were professional, fun and just a really genuine guy. You captured our day absolutely perfectly for us. We wanted candid, relaxed style photos and that is exactly what you delivered.

At many points during the day, I wasn’t even aware of Alex being there – he obviously was because of the brilliant photos we received, but he blended in with our guests beautifully, and never made us feel awkward or staged. Alex got many gorgeous pictures of our Daughter and Nieces too – not an easy job to capture three under 5’s! Around 10pm, I saw Alex and thought, gosh what’s he still doing here at this time?! His answer “I just HAD to wait for the glow sticks to come out!!”.

The ‘sneak peak’ photos were with us only a few hours after waking up the next day, which was fantastic and the whole album came back within a month of the wedding which was a huge shock and an amazing service! Alex even went above and beyond to create a whole separate photo album to pass onto to all our other wonderful suppliers.

Alex was kind, professional and fantastic from start to finish. What a guy – we would happily do it all over again and would, of course still chose Alex as our photographer. To have his images of our special day means we can look back with happiness and pride for many many years to come.

THANK YOU ALEX!!!
