Vibrant Summer Wedding at Cambridge University

What better way to tie the knot than in one of Cambridge University’s grandest chapels in the city where you both met and fell in love, surrounded by your closest friends and family who have travelled far and wide to celebrate with you? Well that’s exactly what Zoe and Ilias did, and I’m so glad they asked me to be a part of it with them.

To ease the nerves of being in front of the camera on their wedding day, Zoe and Ilias booked in for a pre-wedding photoshoot. We had a stroll around the gorgeous Trinity College whist getting to know each other better, talking about their plans for the big day and scouting out some great locations for their wedding day photos too. They were complete naturals in front of the camera, hardly requiring any input from me to make them laugh and smile; I knew I had nothing to worry about for the wedding day, which made me just as excited as them!

6 weeks later, the big day had rolled around. To ensure all key moments of the day were captured, I’d brought along Tania for extra photos and Callum for video; it was all hands on deck and a great team effort! I love it when couples break the mold with quirky decisions, making every wedding unique. Zoe and Ilias decided to get ready together and travel on foot from their hotel to Trinity College which made for some awesome photos!

Trinity College Chapel is simply stunning, the vast room with it’s extremely high ceilings made for some epic perspectives. There was hardly a dry eye in the room as Zoe made her vows in Greek, a truly loving sentiment felt by everyone.

Rain did delay play after the ceremony, but thankfully, the heavy downpour was followed by glorious bright sunshine, a photographer’s dream. We revisited some of the same locations around the college grounds from the pre-wedding shoot, lending to some great before and after photos, as well as some of the historic streets of Cambridge for some street-photography-style photos too, resulting in some of my favourite photos ever!

The evening celebrations were fantastic too. Delicious food, touching speeches and great tunes.r!

We rounded the day off with an epic evening portrait on the street; I love finishing things off with a banger!

Cambridge is fast becoming my favourite place to photograph, everything from weddings to family shoots to engagements. If you’re looking for a photographer who’s passionate about their craft and the city, then maybe you’ve found them? Get in touch and let me know about the big day you have planned, I would love to be a part of it with you.
