Elegant Summer Wedding at Poets House, Ely

No amount of rain on the weather forecast could dampen Mollie and Cameron’s spirits on the morning of their wedding day. They were ready to fully embrace the day and all that it had in store for them, and what a day it was…

The overcast July morning brought soft natural light in through the windows, allowing for some gorgeous portraits of Mollie as she got ready at home. Oh, and of course Tulu the Cat, who unfortunately couldn’t attend the wedding celebrations; something about being busy catching mice, I’m not sure, it got lost in translation.

Cameron being at his parents house just around the corner, meant I was able to nip in and get a few snaps of him getting ready too. Cool as a cucumber he was, and sporting some eye catching socks!

Mollie & Cameron chose Poets House in Ely to tie the knot, a charming historic hotel in the heart of the UK’s second smallest city. It was the perfect setting for their intimate ceremony and lively evening celebrations.

There was hardly a dry eye in the house after the heart-touching speeches from Mollie, Cam, their Dads, and Best-men. Everyone was really impressed with the coreagraphed first dance, but no-one was prepared for what followed… Cameron’s freestyle dance moves blew everyone away; I’m kind of lost for words actually. It was a sight to behold, you really need to see it to believe it!

My stance is that I will always match what the bride and groom put in. Mollie & Cam wore their hearts on their sleeves all day and gave it 110%; it was an absolute joy to be able to document! Here are some of the kind words they had to say about working with me:

From our very first meeting, Alex has been a true professional. Without his input, we would not have got the amazing quality photos we will now have to cherish forever. As a photographer, he puts you at ease, shows you how to enjoy the process of being photographed and has a sharp eye for great, spontaneous pictures. Finally and most importantly, he is the kind and warm-hearted human being you would want to have with you on your special day. It was so great working with you, Alex, don’t ever change!

A massive congratulations to the new Mr and Mrs Reed!
